Fall River Youth Soccer Association

TopSoccer

What is TOPSoccer?
US Youth Soccer, the nation’s largest youth sports organization, started TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) in 1991 to provide young players with disabilities an environment filled with meaningful learning, developmental and physical participation opportunities through the game of soccer. Player participation and development are key elements of the program as players are placed on teams according to ability and NOT by age. TOPSoccer is designed to improve the overall fitness, self-esteem and social skills of your child. TOPSoccer furthers US Youth Soccer’s mission of fostering the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of America’s youth through the sport of soccer at all levels. In short, TOPSoccer takes kids from the sidelines to participating in the game.

What is TOPSoccer to FRYSA?
TOPSoccer is a division of Fall River Youth Soccer and is proud to continue its TopSoccer program established in the fall of 2009. TopSoccer is a FREE program to ANY CHILD ages 3-22 with a physical, mental, or emotional challenges. (504 or IEP is required) TopSoccer is volunteer-driven and gives players the opportunity to experience, enjoy, and to play the game of soccer in a modified version that is specifically designed to help build a feeling of individual confidence and success. TopSoccer is a non-competitive way for our special children to enjoy a team sport, learn sportsmanship and soccer skills, but most importantly, to feel good about themselves and HAVE FUN!

How Do I Register?

Are there any Cori requirements for adult volunteers?
Yes, Fall River Youth Soccer Association requires all parents that help their child or goes onto the field at any time to have a current Cori and badge. About the Director of Fall River TOPSoccer:

Hello,

My name is Amanda Rezendes. This is my second year on the Board of Directors as Director of the TOPS Program and I love it! I have been a coach since 2011 and my involvement has increased every year. In 2011 I received my Master’s degree in Special Education. I am one of the lucky people in this world who LOVE what they do for a living. It is such a joy to take my love for children with disabilities and transfer it right onto the soccer field! I am a huge animal lover and I have 3 dogs, 3 goats, 2 cats and a horse! Look forward to meeting you and your family!
